University of East London Intakes

When deciding on a course, one of the first things students do is decide when to start the course. It is important to choose the right intake date because it is closely connected with the timelines of the application, paperwork preparation, visa planning, accommodation arrangements, and the overall transition to university life.   The University of East London has courses in different areas of study, and the availability of intake dates varies from one program to another. The university offers two intakes i.e January and September.

January Intake

The January intake gives the opportunity to those students who cannot or do not want to start their studies in September to do so at the beginning of the calendar year. The courses that can be taken based on this particular intake date depend on a specific program and what the university has to offer at the moment.

September Intake

The September intake is usually the main academic intake date for a wide range of UK courses. However, the availability of different courses depends on the specific course program, so students should not think that every course offered by UEL opens recruitment for September.

UK Student Visa

Indian students planning to study at the University of East London generally need to apply for a UK Student visa before travelling to the UK. Key Student Visa Requirements

  • Confirmation of Acceptance for Studies (CAS): Students must receive a CAS from the University of East London before submitting their Student visa application. UEL normally issues the CAS after students meet their academic conditions, pay the required tuition-fee deposit and complete any applicable pre-CAS checks.
  • Valid Passport: Applicants must have a valid passport or other accepted travel document. UEL states that the passport should have at least one completely blank page on both sides for the visa process.
  • Proof of Financial Funds: Since UEL is located in London, students must submit proof of funds for any outstanding first-year tuition fees shown on their CAS, plus £1,529 per month for living expenses, up to a maximum of nine months (£13,761).
  • 28-Day Financial Requirement: Where financial evidence is required, the required funds generally need to have been held continuously for 28 consecutive days, with the closing balance dated within 31 days of the visa application.
  • English Language Requirement: Students must demonstrate the required level of English. The specific English-language evidence used for admission is normally recorded on the CAS.
  • Academic Documents: The CAS identifies qualifications used for admission. For degree-level courses at UEL, students may not normally need to submit qualification evidence with the visa application, although UKVI can request it during the application process.
  • TB Test Certificate: Indian students coming to the UK for more than six months may need to provide a tuberculosis (TB) test certificate.
  • ATAS Certificate, if applicable: Students whose course and circumstances require an Academic Technology Approval Scheme (ATAS) certificate must obtain it before applying for the visa.
