The Graduate Record Examination is a standardized test that is required to be taken by students who seek admission in any of the graduate schools. The GRE helps graduate schools assess the qualification of applicants for advanced study.

The GRE test is offered as a computer-based exam which is administered at Prometric testing centers throughout the country. The GRE has three sections which are Verbal Reasoning, Quantitative Reasoning and Analytical writing. Students are allowed to use calculators during the test and the total duration of the exam is now 1 hr and 58 minutes.

The GRE exam has three sections:

  1. Analytical Writing Assessment (also called as AWA)
  2. Quantitative Section
  3. Verbal Reasoning Section
