Singapore Student Visa
Student Visa For Singapore
In Singapore, a student visa is officially known as a Student Pass. It serves the same purpose as a student visa in other countries.
Application Process
After receiving a Letter of Acceptance (LOA) from a recognized educational institution in Singapore, students must apply for a Student Pass to study in Singapore.
The educational institution will submit the Student Pass application on the student’s behalf through the Immigration & Checkpoints Authority (ICA). In most cases, the application is processed within 2–3 weeks, provided all required documents are submitted correctly.
Proof of Financial Support
Applicants must demonstrate sufficient financial resources to support their studies and living expenses in Singapore. The funds shown should be available in the account for at least one day before the Student Pass application.
Documents Required for a Singapore Student Pass
Applicants should prepare the following documents in the order listed below:
- Completed International Student Application Form
- Valid Passport
- One recent passport-size photograph (taken within the last 6 months)
- Student Pass application fee
- Original bank statements for the last 28 days from all sponsors
- Academic transcripts and mark sheets (from Class 10 onwards, including the highest qualification obtained)
- Affidavit of Support from the sponsor on a ₹20 non-judicial stamp paper
- Work experience certificate (if applicable)
- Fixed Deposit (FD) receipts (if applicable)
- Education loan sanction letter (if applicable)
Applicants are encouraged to apply at least two months before the commencement of their course.
If any supporting documents are not in English, certified English translations must be submitted along with copies of the original documents.
Singapore Student Pass Processing Time
The processing time for a Singapore Student Pass is generally 15 days to one month. Most applications are processed efficiently; however, processing times may be longer during peak admission periods or due to unforeseen circumstances.
Students are advised to submit their applications well in advance of their intended travel date.

Study Visa Procedure for Singapore
There is no fixed list of requirements for obtaining a Singapore Student Pass. Each application is assessed individually by the Immigration & Checkpoints Authority (ICA). However, students are more likely to receive approval if they meet the following criteria:
- The student has secured admission to a full-time course at a recognized educational institution in Singapore, and the institution submits the Student Pass application on the student’s behalf.
- The student provides valid academic credentials demonstrating successful completion of secondary or tertiary education.
- The Student Pass application form is completed accurately, and all required supporting documents are submitted.
Singapore aims to be a leading regional education hub. As a result, the Student Pass application process is designed to be efficient and accessible for international students.
Students are advised to apply for their Student Pass as early as possible after receiving their offer of admission. They should also carry all original documents when collecting their Student Pass. In addition, students must always hold a valid immigration endorsement in their passport, such as a Student Pass or a Social Visit Pass, while staying in Singapore.
Turnaround Time
The Student Pass application may be processed in as little as 2 weeks. However, students should generally allow 4–5 weeks for approval.
