Scholarships can make quality education in Australia more accessible and affordable for international students. The Australian Government, universities, and private organisations offer scholarships, grants, and bursaries based on merit, financial need, academic performance, or course-specific criteria. Scholarship amounts may range from AUD 2,000 to full tuition fee coverage, while many doctoral programs are fully funded.
These scholarships help deserving students reduce their financial burden while pursuing higher education in Australia. However, securing a scholarship can be competitive, so students should maintain strong academic scores, extracurricular achievements, and test results such as GMAT, TOEFL, or GPA to improve their chances.

Government-Funded Australian Scholarships for International Students
Australian Government scholarships are offered for full-time study in Australia for undergraduate, master’s, doctoral, and technical courses.

Education Loan
To ensure that students have access to quality education, the Government of India has made it easier for students to apply for education loans through a wide range of banking institutions. Almost all nationalized banks now offer education loans to students who wish to study abroad. Banks provide financial assistance based on the course, duration, and the student’s requirements.
It is important to note that there are certain differences in the eligibility criteria and documentation required for loans to study in Indian institutions and those for studying overseas.
Each bank has its own criteria for offering education loans to students. Factors such as the loan tenure, interest rate, repayment period, and mode of repayment may vary from bank to bank.
Healthcare
The Overseas Student Health Cover (OSHC) provides medical and hospital insurance for international students. Students must not arrive in Australia before their health insurance becomes active. Maintaining a valid OSHC throughout the visa duration is mandatory.
In some cases, Australian universities arrange OSHC on behalf of students. Students should also ensure that the institution they choose is registered with recognised Australian regulatory bodies such as the Commonwealth Register of Institutions and Courses for Overseas Students (CRICOS), the Australian Qualifications Framework (AQF), the Australian Skills Quality Authority (ASQA), or the Tertiary Education Quality and Standards Agency (TEQSA). These organisations ensure quality assurance and maintain high standards in Australian education.
