• Residency: Must be a permanent resident or have lived in one of the participating countries (including India) for at least the last 3 years. 
• Fee and funding status: Must be classified as a study abroad student, paying their own fees. 
• Course level: Must have received an offer for a full-time, on-campus master’s degree at the University of Sheffield. (MArch programs are classed as postgraduate taught courses for this award). 
• Pathway students: Those students who are being sponsored by the University of Sheffield International College (USIC) can apply as long as they meet all the other criteria.

Key Restrictions & Course Exclusions

• Ineligible Programs: PG Diplomas (PGDip), PG Certificates (PGCert), online and distance learning, split campus courses (Crossways), Erasmus Mundus programs, and courses with extra high clinical charges.
• Combination Restrictions: Normally, the scholarship cannot be combined with any other scholarships and discounts offered by the University of Sheffield or with fully or partially paid-for grants from outside organisations (loans that have to be paid back can be used).
• Master’s Programs of Two Years Duration: In the case of two-year master’s studies, the £7,000 shall be deducted from the tuition fee in the second year on the condition of proper completion of the first academic year.
• No Deferrals: The award cannot be postponed till the next academic year.
