About University of Sheffield Hallam
University of Sheffield Hallam traces its origin back to 1843, when Sheffield school of design was founded. It is known as one of the top schools of art & design .In 1905, Sheffield training college on collegiate crescent enrolled its first 90 students. In 1969, Sheffield school of art & design & City College of technology were merged to become Sheffield polytechnic. In 1976, polytechnic was renamed as Sheffield city polytechnic. It absorbed city’s two teacher training colleges. In 1992, city polytechnic was awarded the title of Sheffield Hallam University. University of Sheffield Hallam got the right to award its own degree.

Sports and Activities
University of Sheffield Hallam is known for its best sports facilities. University of Sheffield Hallam is highly concerned about the fitness of its students. University of Sheffield Hallam has sports union. This sports club has 37 sports clubs. It offers both competitive and recreational sports facilities to its students. University of Sheffield Hallam has qualified instructors for people of all ages. University of Sheffield Hallam has fitness suites. University of Sheffield Hallam is situated in South Yorkshire, England, based on two sites in Sheffield. University of Sheffield Hallam is centrally located. University of Sheffield Hallam is connected with excellent rail and road links. University of Sheffield Hallam is just two and half hour away from London by train. Major cities like Manchester, Liverpool and Leeds are one hour away. In summers weather is pleasantly warm and sunny where as in winters it is cold and one can see snow in winters. Temperature remains mild during most of year. One never knows when it starts raining. So it is advisable to bring waterproof clothing and umbrella.
