About University of Loughborough
University of Loughborough traces its origin back to 1909 when Technical Institute was founded in centre of town. Technical Institute was renamed as Loughborough College. During First World War this institute was divided into four separate colleges. They were following:
- Loughborough Training College
- Loughborough College of Art
- Loughborough College of Further Education
- Loughborough College of Technology
In 1966 it became College of Advanced Technology. According to Robinson Report College of Advanced Technology was granted a royal charter and it became Loughborough University of Technology on 19th April 1966.

University of Loughborough is situated in the heart of England. It is located in the northern part of Leicestershire. It is well connected by rail, road and air links. London is one and half hour away by train. Climate of Leicestershire is similar to climate of England. It has all four seasons. It is very difficult to predict weather .It changes very frequently. It is always advisable to bring warm clothes such as long overcoat, gloves, cap etc for winters.
