University of Glasgow has nine faculties. They are following:
- Faculty of Arts : Faculty of Art cover the subjects which originated with the foundation of University of Glasgow in 1451.At that time it used to teach undergraduate and postgraduates courses in the field of Latin, Greek, moral philosophy, logic, mathematics and natural philosophy. Today faculty of art is one of the largest faculties of University of Glasgow. Faculty of art is also known for its English literature, English language, history, philosophy, classic theology & religious studies, archaeology, music, history of art, theatre studies, film and television studies & humanities computing.
- Faculty of Biomedical & life sciences: This faculty is known for its research. It offers research in the following fields:
- Biochemistry & cell biology
- Ecology & Evolutionary biology
- Integrative & Systems biology
- Microbiology
- Molecular genetics
- Neuroscience & molecular Pharmacology
- Parasitology
- Plant Science
- Faculty of Education : This faculty provides new degree courses in the field of B.ED honours in primary education, M.A in primary education, B.A in childhood practice, PGDE one year programme for primary & secondary education. These courses offer 90 masters level credits. This faculty has following departments:

- Faculty of Engineering: This faculty is known for its world class engineering education & research. This faculty has following departments:
- Aerospace Engineering

- Faculty of Information & Mathematical Sciences: This faculty has following departments:
- Department of Computing Science

- Faculty of Law, Business and Social Sciences: Departments of this faculty are internationally known for its excellence of teaching and research. This faculty offers three main undergraduate degree courses. They are following:
- Bachelor of Accountancy
- Bachelor of Laws
- Master of Arts in Social Sciences
- Faculty of Medicine: This faculty provides courses in the field of clinical medicine, dentistry, nursing and health care. This faculty aims to provide high quality learning environment for research degrees.
- Faculty of Physical Sciences: This faculty provides courses in the field of Chemistry, Geographical & Earth Sciences and Physics & Astronomy.
- Faculty of Veterinary Medicine: Institute of Comparative Medicine (ICM) is the multidisciplinary research base of faculty of Veterinary Medicine. Research activities of this faculty are focused in three main areas. They are following:

- Master of Arts in Social Sciences
International programmes
University of Glasgow provides English language courses for International Students. University of Glasgow has English as a foreign language unit which offer courses in English language to International Students. This unit provide pre- sessional English courses and also help International Students in developing study skills which will help them in there future studies. These courses last for 10-40 weeks depending upon competence level of student.
