University of Hertfordshire is a modern public university based largely in Hatfield, in the country of Hertfordshire England. University of Hertfordshire traces its origin to 1951, when de Havilland Company gave land in Hatfield adjoining the A1 to Hertfordshire country council for educational use. Council used this land to build & operate Hatfield Technical College, which trained aerospace industry. In 1967 it became polytechnic, the Hatfield Polytechnic. With the passage of Further & Higher Education act, 1992 institution gained status of University.

University of Hertfordshire is at the distance of 25 minutes by train from London. It takes half hour to reach London by rail. Weather of Hatfield is same as we find in London. Weather is unpredictable. It is always advisable to bring warm clothes like hat, gloves, long coat etc along with them.

- College Lane Campus: This campus is the house of original Hatfield Technical College building. This campus is known for computer science, engineering, natural science & health & human science courses.
- De Havilland Campus: This campus is situated within a 15 minutes walk of College Lane. Business School & Faculty of Humanities & Education are based here.
- St Albans Campus: This campus is located in the centre of cathedral city. This campus is known for its law school
